What is the average cost for Marble or Granite Restoration?
I have a round dinning table for 6-8 desperately in need of restoration. There is a layer of 1/16″ clear coating on its surface. This clear coating cracked in various places and peeling off around the edges. The entire table probably needs to be resurfaced.
What is the average cost for this kind of restoration? How would I know who is good for the job?
Hi there, in my opinion Marble is a soft stone and can be damaged by dirt and other
materials that scratch its surface. It can also be damaged by wax buildup or by using the wrong cleaning chemicals. Foot traffic, acidic cleaners, cola, coffee, fruit juice and wine dull and etch the stone. The depth and richness of a high gloss polish finish is achieved by mechanically re-polishing the stone using diamond abrasives. Before you begin – make sure you know the type of stone you are dealing with. Prepare the surface for polishing by stripping any layers of finish, crystallizers or wax if any has been previously applied. You may be a candidate for laser resurfacing if you have fine or coarse wrinkles of the skin–usually on the face. Laser resurfacing may also be used to treat uneven skin surface as a result of scarring acne or small skin growths. Laser resurfacing may also be desirable if you have areas of hyperpigmentation (age spots).
Laser resurfacing is intended to give the patient a smoother, youthful-appearing skin of more uniform color.
Laser resurfacing is usually done on an outpatient basis under local sedation and local or general anesthesia. The superficial layers of the skin are removed by the pulsed laser. The advantage of the laser is that the depth of treatment is extremely controlled and predictable. The laser treatment also tightens the skin.
You will be sent home with specific written instructions. Depending on location, the treated areas are usually covered with ointment. The treatment postoperatively will prevent formation of a crust or scab. Healing will be complete in 7-10 days. Redness (pink color) will usually last from 1?6 months. Makeup can be worn once healing is complete (7-10 days)
Other facial procedures such as blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), facelift, rhinoplasty, cheek implants, etc. can be performed at the same time.
This procedure is considered cosmetic and therefore is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment. The specific risks and the suitability of this procedure for a given individual can be determined only at the time of consultation. All procedures have some degree of risk. How to repair old poured concrete wall?
I have a huge poured concrete porch. I can’t ignore it anymore because it’s such a dreadful mess. I decided I’d refinish it with e-z stone. The complete line of bonder, stone coat and sealer makes it perfect for my project.
Here’s my problem:
The walls of the porch were painted by some fool. Of course, the paint is peeling.
To prepare the surface for the e-z stone, I started wire brushing the loose paint. (e-z stone products adhere to secured paint.)
When wire brushing, certain areas of the wall are crumbling!
After I’m done scraping away all the old paint, and clean the surface, how should I repair the concrete before I begin to resurface it?
any depot, lowes or that type of store will have what u need. going by different names per store, u want to get a concrete patch filler. at lowes i use hydraulic cement. cures well and easy to apply and mix. let dry for 24 hrs.
depending on the depth of the holes u have, up to 1 inch, one coat will do it. larger holes i would apply to the hole about 3/4 full and let dry and reapply.
hint: on the larger holes, mix with hot water instead of cold and the mixture will set up very fast for u.
