Annual Glow With Tanning Bronzers Indoor Use
Tanning bronzers indoor use is becoming increasingly popular. Not only do they help speed tanning in beds, but they offer additional tanning activity which occurs well after your tanning session has ended. These products can be perfect for those who need that perfect tan with limited time before the big event or date.
Bronzers accomplish this miracle through the action of select ingredients. The most commonly found is dihydroxyacetone. Non-scientists out there can simply refer to it by its common nickname, DHA. DHA’s ability to cause apparent tanning of skin was discovered by scientists in the 1920′s. Technology has further improved its application over the years and today it is the most popular component of bronzers.
Other bronzers found in bronzing products include caramel, black walnut shell extract, and henna. These ingredients are natural and have holistic beneficial effects upon the skin in addition to helping create the appearance of a healthy tan. Other natural extracts are often added in these products lending to soft, silky skin.
There are two main variations of commonly found tanning bronzers. The first are those sold to the general public, usually in drugstores. These typically contain 3% to 5% of DHA, the active ingredient. The second are professional bronzers sold only to qualified professionals. These contain up to 15% of DHA. Each have advantages and disadvantages.
The more diluted version containing only up to 5% DHA does not produce the deep tan effects that the stronger professional formulation creates. However, the weaker version is far easier to use. It just requires several applications. The professional strength variation can accomplish the same effect in one coat, however, it can prove difficult for an amateur to do correctly. Unskilled application of the professional formulation can produce unattractive, uneven coloration.
Many people choose to use a combination tanning lotion with bronzer in conjunction with tanning beds. Some experts do caution against overuse of tanning beds, or against too much direct exposure to the sun. Use of bronzers does not diminish whatever risks might be associated with long term tanning bed usage. One should consult with their healthcare provider to ascertain whether tanning is appropriate considering their personal characteristics and history.
DHA is fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use as a tanning agent. Many choose to use bronzers in lieu of tanning. Some experts argue that this is a far healthier alternative to direct sun, or tanning bed bulb, exposure. Most commonly all additional ingredients are natural. If concerned, one should check the label of the product before selection.
Tanning bronzers indoor use is a great alternative to plain tanning accelerators or unprotected exposure to UV rays. Even in the dead of winter, with their use, one can appear fresh off the beach. This can be accomplished without the adverse health effects often associated with tanning. Either at the salon, or do it yourself solutions found at most drugstores, provide for a great choice for anyone seeking beautiful tan skin.
